ERRORR are releasing
Makeshift Happy - the last single before the release of their debut album
Self Destruct, coming out on the 3rd of March via Anomic Records.
ERRORR was founded by Leonard Kaage; the Swedish multi-instrumentalist also known as the producer and guitar player of
The Underground Youth has also worked with numerous other bands like
The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Kristof Hahn (SWANS), Tess Parks and many more.
Leonard says about
Makeshift Happy:
"The song is about breaking patterns and not live your life after what your surrounding expects from you. You go to school, get a job, start a family, buy this, buy that. Accomplishing those things might give you some sort of satisfaction but in the end, if it's not self-chosen, it's just there to fill some kind of void. It will leave you half happy. This song is a friendly reminder to think for yourself and go wherever you want to go."
Disbelief in authoritarian structures and reflecting on life in modern western society is what characterizes the lyrics of
ERRORR.
That's not to say the lyrical content of ERRORR's songs is pure rage, on the contrary, the songs have an immense emotional depth and vulnerability to them that sets them aside from any other run-of-the-mill 'loud band'. There is a frustration with ones surroundings and injustices as well as a lust and love for life, people and making music. Errorr offers an alternative to the mainstream and invites the listener to a new wave of noise-rock:
Loud guitars and punchy fuzz bass supported by catchy drum beats. All those elements converge into a wall of sound that Leonards's vocal delivery cuts through to make screaming 'noise' a pop record.
The upcoming debut album Self Destruct will be released on the 3rd of March 2023 via Anomic Records and was recorded in Leonard's own basement studio.
It was mixed there, as well as in Gothenburg's Svenska Grammofonstudion, one of the most prestigious music studios in the north of Europe run by Kalle Gustafsson Jerneholm who is known for The Soundtrack of Our Lives. The master was done by Frederic Kevorkian who has mastered for a plethora of artists like The White Stripes, Ryan Adams, Beyonce, Iggy Pop and many more.
.
The Album will be released on vinyl in 3 different editions and colours:
Self Destruct will be available on transparent red vinyl at a record store near you. A limited transparent blue edition will be available only through Anomic Records and in the US through Little Cloud Records and a special edition in white will be available exclusively via the well known UK label
FUZZ CLUB.
ERRORR band are one of the most compelling new acts in the contemporary underground scene and brings an unadulterated crassness to the table that hasn't been seen in a while. Their live shows are incredibly energetic and given the opportunity, a must-catch. With their debut Album Self Destruct they have managed to capture the raw energy of a packed concert and put it on a 12-inch disc that will be released in three colors. Mark your calendars: March 3rd.
